Team Selection - Please Read

Objectives

To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship
and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character
and self discipline.

To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all
kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.

To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship and to
instil in members the proper care of their animals.

The Pony Club is divided into 9 areas in Ireland of which we
are Area 3 along with Waterford Pony Club, Golden Vale Pony
Club, North Kilkenny Pony Club and West Waterford Pony Club.

In Tipperary Pony Club we try to encourage children to
participate in as many different aspects of Pony Club as
possible. We hold Show Jumping and Dressage lessons,
Rides through the woods, Cross Country and Games days,
Fancy Dress Rides, Treasure Hunts, Discos, Rallies
(instruction in various riding disciplines) and Pony Camp.
We also aim to run outings to various equine establishments
if possible. The emphasis is on fun but as you progress and
become more capable you can compete at various different
levels.

If you want you can compete up to a national level as there
are championship events held throughout the year. These competitions are divided into age groups ie Under 12s, Juniors (U15's), Intermediates (over 15's) and Seniors or Members, depending on the competition. Entries for ALL competitions
must be made in advance.

There is a Pony Club festival held in July/August every year
that incorporates Dressage, Combined Training, Show Jumping, Mounted Games and Musical Rides.
